THINK TANK?
Since the invention of the first Meditation Tank by John C. Lilly in 1954, the intention behind floating has been based upon the same principle: Sensory Deprivation.
Modern-day tanks have been referred to as
Isolation Tanks,
Flotation Tank,
Meditation Pod,
Anti-sensory Tank,
and
Think Tank, to name a few.
(We prefer the latter.)
The Basic Think Tank Set-up
Our Think Tanks are made of wood, filled with water and hundreds of pounds of Epsom salts. Water is filtered using reverse osmosis and heated to body temperature.
What Floating Entails
Being inside a Think Tank encourages an ultra-deep relaxation similar to the effects of meditation and/or a full nights worth of restful sleep.
Picture this:
You are seamlessly floating upon the most buoyant water you can imagine. Your physical self ceases to do much work, leading to your internal self (subconscious mind bodily organs and spirit) to work on aligning itself. Laying in darkness upon 95 degree water, the anti-gravity effect goes into place. You no longer recognize where your body ends and where the water meets. Your awareness of yourself and the world around you changes drastically. It is just you inside the tank, no need for calls, texts, advertisements, or troubles. Your body gets a complete break from the daily stresses of being on your feet, in front of a computer, and being over-worked. Eventually, you relinquish the control you are used to having over your body and surrender to relaxation. You lose sense of time and soon you hear soft meditative music playing in your tank- signaling the end of your session. You awaken with a renewed sense of overall well-being, ready to take on the world you left behind.
